PROJECT UPDATE (10.7.2011):

This is our first adaptive re-use venture into downtown evanston. We have owned/operated this 2 story commercial facility since 1999 and a “major update” is needed. The project’s scope includes demolishing a rear storage building which more than double on site parking, a 2nd floor interior redux/ addition and a new street facade. Our existing two first floor units will remain and occupied during the project by our long time tenants COMIX revolution and 57th Street Bookcase. The three new 2nd floor units can be combined or shared for multiple uses. We are all anxious to see how this project’s ENERGY positively impacts their bottom line.

In keeping with our previous projects, energy efficiency, daylighting and natural ventilation, “sensible” green design and flexibility to adapt to future technologies are incorporated in the design. The varying percentage of the building’s use influenced these decisions and will be presented in detail throughout the construction process.
